HAIR CUT

I know that getting a hair cut is no big deal and I'm almost feeling that this is going to be a pointless post, but yeah I got a hair cut. Go me!
It was very much long over due, I normally leave it until my hair is pretty much unbearable to tame before I even consider a hair cut, and I know I should go every 6 weeks or whatever but thats just not me. I am working on being more presentable with my hair and making an effort, but when I know no-one will see me and I'm in the house my best friend is a messy bun.

HOW I CLEAN MY MAKE UP BRUSHES

Since I have been using make up brushes I have always found washing them such a chore. I really should wash them more than I actually do, but no-ones perfect. and to be honest who has the time every week to wash make up brushes?
I most definitely start with my eye brushes first, one because they're easy and two because it easies me into actually washing them, if I was to start with my face brushes I would honestly give up half way through.
I use baby shampoo on my brushes, and it's great to clean them and keep the brush heads soft. I normally use a big towel, but for this purpose I used kitchen towel. I dip the brush in the water only so far so that water doesn't go into the metal and ruins the glue. I then get a big of shampoo on the brush and swirl it on the towel to rub out the old make up left on the brush, I dip in the water again and repeat the shampooing process until all the make up has left the brush. Once I think the make up is all gone, I then use running water to make sure all the last bits of shampoo and dirt has left the brush, then I lie the brush on its side on a big bit of kitchen towel over night for them to dry naturally. Make sure you do this, as lying your brush up right with water on them can cause the brush glue to weaken and cause the bristles to fall out.
I then repeat the process on all my other dirty brushes.

I'm actually looking for a spot cleaner for my eye brushes as I probably use them the most and don't have as many as I would like so I'm constantly having to use the same ones, so spot cleaning them would make my life a lot easier.
So if anyone has any ideas please tweet me

URBAN DECAY NAKED SMOKY PALETTE

Well here it is, this has been on my wish list for quite some time now and I have finally got my hands on it. I have been a huge fan of the Urban Decay Naked Palettes since the first one came out, and it probably is the only eyeshadows that I actually use on a regular basis. For the price (£38) you can't go wrong, all the colours work along side each other and you are able to great a million and one different looks with each palette.
I was excited about this palette just because it seemed to have a lot of nice dark colours, obviously for smoky eyes, but just in general. I'm more of a neutral kind of person when it comes to eyeshadows, but with this palette I feel I'm going to be so much more experimental and try out a bunch of interesting looks with it.
My only issue with these palettes is that it they have extreme fall out, but if you apply your eye make up before foundation/concealer it should be fine to just tidy up.
Over all this is an amazing palette, it comes with a double ended brush and has a great variety of mattes and shimmers. For the price you can't go wrong and will make a great present for someone that loves to try new things or who even collects eyeshadow palettes and loves make up.

Tweet/Instagram me with ideas on eye looks and show me pictures of you trying out the palette yourself.

CURRENT SKIN CARE MUST HAVES

When it comes down to having a skin care routine I can be rather lazy at it, I would happily stay in bed with make up on than get up and wash it off. Terrible I know, but over the last few weeks I have been doing a lot better, and trying to find something that works for me was a task itself but I think I have figured it out.
I had ran out of my Clinique cleanser, so I thought since I was low on cash over the summer I would try a cheaper one, so I went for the Simple Micellar water. Honestly, this has been a saviour for me with taking my make up off. It only takes seconds to remove eye make up and for me that is a huge bonus and selling point.
For toning I am using my Clinique Clarifying Lotion in number 1 for my sensitive skin. I use this on a big cotton pad and wipe it all over my face a few times for maximum use. This does a great job of cleaning my skin further and prepping it right before moisturising.
Then for moisturising I use Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion, and this has to be the best moisturiser I have ever tried that actually works for my skin. For ages I have tried a variety of moisturisers and nothing compares to this one for me. Since I started using Clinique last July I would stick with it just because I know it benefits my skin the best, even though it hurts my bank balance but if it work why not?
Tell me what your favourite skin care items are, if you have any recommendations for me? Maybe you have found a moisturiser that matches the Clinique one but it's cheaper? please comment down below or tweet me.

NAIL FAVOURITES RIGHT NOW

For most of my life I was a nail biter, mainly down to nerves and anxiety and they were horrendous, I was always very self conscious of what they looked like and made an effort of hiding my hands all the time. But up until 2 and a half years ago things changed and I just completely stopped biting. So ever since then I have made sure my nails looked the best they could look, always polished and had no chips and were all even.
These polishes have been a life saver, every girl knows how time consuming it is waiting on your nails to try, so when I saw that they dried in 60 seconds I had to give them a go. I don't even need a top coat, and I get at least a week to a week and a half without chipping. I am sold, these two have been the ones I have been switching out over the last few months. I love a nude and I really love a bright pink as well...and it gives me a little change every so often. But together with this cuticle oil, my nails have never looked so good! The oil absorbs so quickly and leaves your fingers like you have just came straight out of the nail bar, it's great!!
Tell me your nail secrets, I'm always excited to try new nail colours or products that are going to keep my nails strong!

CURRENT FOUNDATION ROUTINE

Even though there hasn't been much of a summer in Scotland these last few months, my foundation routine definitely has changed to something a lot lighter than what I would wear in Autumn/Winter.
I have never really been a crazy foundation wearer to be honest. I would much rather do without than wear it, but there are times when I must leave the house and see people so something is needed to cover those spots and bright red cheeks.
Because I have dry skin I normally go for a dewy foundation to give myself a little glow, but in summer I have opted for a tinted moisturiser and It has been the best decision ever. It looks so natural and feels really light on the skin, to apply I use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to buff it into my skin and It gives you the perfect amount of coverage, I do add concealer on any spots, under my eyes and on my bright red cheeks if i need a little extra coverage. But adding a thick concealer like the collection lasting perfection concealer doesn't make the look any less natural than what it would be like if it was with out it.
I love tinter moisturisers and if you have any requests for any others, please tweet me about them I'm always interested in trying new products.

MONDAY THOUGHTS

Im currently sitting in my room right now, listening to the rain outside. This for me is the most peaceful and soothing way to think, it really gives me time to reflect on whats happening. Recently I have been trying really hard to gather good content for you so I can make the best posts. But I have honestly been the worst. I could sit with a new blank page ready to type and then my mind goes blank. So, I thought I might as well write about what is on my mind write now.
Well University is fast approaching and honestly never thought it would be coming around so quickly. I'm getting nervous and quite anxious about the whole situation, but at the same time I am really excited. I am not one for being a party animal or a social butterfly, I like my bed and quiet time at the weekends, and I would much rather do these without a hangover. So obviously I'm anxious to see what the social life of university will be like. But I'm going to try not dwell on it and keep my head down mostly. For me it's about gaining a qualification, making friends and life long contacts along the way.
I can't stress enough of how lazy I am when it comes to writing posts for you. I am the worst blogger at the moment. But from now on, I am planning on putting loads of more effort in with my pictures and editing as well so hopefully these will help with giving me the extra motivation to show you guys my best work and I hope you will enjoy these with me.

Sorry this post wasn't the most exciting, but hopefully over the week I will have a few more posts.
