Small November Wishlist.

These are just four of some things that i am currently obsessing over and getting excited for payday. All four are really good Autumn trends, and can all work together in a way. I know these things aren't for everyone and people might think Dr Marten's are manly or smock dresses are horrible. Well you may as well leave this post and stop reading.

Dr Martens- Amazon £100
Check smock dress -Asos £40
Cream Knitted Cardigan - Primark £14
Black Leather Purse- New Look £14.99

These might not be anything to exciting for some people, but for me, being a student i very rarely spend money on clothes, mostly goes on train fairs, food, and just basic living.

So thank you for reading and i will hopefully be posting a lot more often.

Professional Design Practice.

Since the end of August, Start of September I have been in College studying Fashion design and Manufacture. And within this course, one of the classes has been Professional Design Practice, or PDP. This a class that is helping us towards us maybe going into a design team, seeing a process of how it would work towards putting a magazine spread together.

We, as a group of three are working towards a magazine spread in the free magazine 'stylist' which I normally get handed, walking to and from my towns central station (Glasgow central station).

I'll be honest and tell you that i was not up for that class at all at the start, found it very boring i must say, and kind of pointless. And i'm not the only one who finds one or two classes out of their timetable boring. But once getting into at like the fifth week, i really started to enjoy and get to see how this class could benefit me in the near future.

At the start we were told to start a folder up of inspiration and weekly logs, which we are meant to keep up to date and make sense of. My folder wasn't much at first, but now, i must say i'm pretty surprised and pleased with how it's turning out.

At the start of December, as a group were are to show 4 A4 boards of pictures from out photo shoot, which our theme is monochrome, and in a cheaper alternative from catwalk images. To the present these boards in front of a member of the public of the process and how we done it.

So yeah this is just a little thing to show you about one of my classes... nothing to exciting but i felt i should upload a post since i hadn't in ages.

Thanks,

A/w favourite- Tartan

This is just a small post on my new favourite for this autumn/ winter. I am honestly loving everything tartan, being Scottish I'm patriotic when it comes to the country and love everything to do with it. But I'm seeing tartan in everything, scarves, skirts an trousers- being the things I'm wanting for my wardrobe this season.
So go grab a tartan/ check item this year to add some extra colour to your outfit, also giving you warmth in this cold weather which is brewing.

First OOTD :) 03/09/13

First Outfit of the day post, and it's just a casual one. I only popped into town to pick up my glasses, so kept the outfit comfy and simple.

I bought a check shirt from Primark for starting college and it;s oversized and so comfortable, I found mines in the men's section, but pretty sure the womans has some too, i just wanted mine a little bigger so i could wear it with leggings and it covered my bum. I paired the shirt with black leggings and black miltary style boots. Also added my Gold dog chain necklace from Topshop and a plain black bag from H and M.

Again nothing to amazing but I needed to post an outfit sooner or later. Hope you like it and leave comments and let me know if you like these and more ideas for blog posts.

First Week Back At College

Well on Monday past (26th of Aug) I started back at college. Like I mentioned previously, that I go to Glasgow Clyde College at the Cardonald Campus (previously called Cardonald College). I'm in my First year of my HND of Fashion Design and Manufacture.

Well Monday wasn't exactly easy, I was super nervous and hadn't slept a wink. But overall the day was a good day. I met some new people, and got straight back into life as a fashion student again. Was crazy, they really don't waste any time when it comes to HND. Was a bit taken back, but I thought well this is what I want to do and there's no other way of getting through fashion if i don't do this course.

So tomorrow is my half day, which is a Thursday and i get a longish weekend, pretty good time table this year, so I'm excited to do all the things that are needed to get where i need to be. passing assessments and sticking in is the way forward. Bring on HND1!!

My Best Friend- Fiona Greenshields

You know this dark haired girl?
She's the bestest friend anyone could ask for.

Miss Fiona Greenshields, what I can say about our friendship?
It's definitely been a crazy one, and quite distant recently, but that doesn't change the fact that she is my best friend, the girl that is there for me and has always been. We've had our moments don't get me wrong, but what kind of girls are we if we don't have a disagreement?

She is one of the most loving girls ever, and always has great advice, we both have our own things going on at the moment, but that's what happens when boyfriends, work and college comes into it.
I have moments where i can just remember all the weird and hilarious times we've had- prom, 6th year, drunkeness on Halloween or valentines night, being boy stalkers at Lanark christmas market and in shopping centres.
Gurl, you are going to have an amazing future and I'm looking forward to sharing so many more hilarious and weird moments with you.

About me..

Hi, My name is Fiona Cummings, i'm a nineteen year old Fashion Student. I study in Glasgow, but stay in the countryside with Family. I was never one for being a 'girly' girl, i played football and done athletics, i was quite active when it came to sports. But, around the same time I turned 16, I was more into clothes and make up. I spent a lot more time in my art classes and decided that I was wanting to study art in college. But at that age, it was very hard to decide there and then what I actually wanted to do with my life and in further education if that was ever an option for me.

I changed my mind thousands of times, from photographer, to police woman, to working in mental health like my father. But I always kind of knew that clothes and fashion was for me.

So, I finished school with no highers. But Last year I got an unconditional at college to study fashion technology. Honestly, thinking back I really didn't know what the course actually entailed but I went for it anyway because it was a fashion course. I wouldn't recommend doing that if you're serious on what you are doing. But it worked out well for me, and by June 2013 I had my NC in Fashion technology. Through doing that course I was able to apply for my HND fashion design course at the same college, I got accepted and was so overjoyed. Knowing through doing the technology course, that I wanted to go down the design route was a real stepping stone for me. I now would life to finish my two years and then see about going into bridal and wedding wear. But for now we will just have to wait and see I suppose.

I just recommend everyone to follow your heart and not to just decide on the spot of what you want to do, because in school and even higher education you might still have no idea. But something will come up and you will end up doing something you love. Don't let anyone decide for you, this is your decision and your life. Live it, how you want it to be and not for anyone else.
